Octavius Pharma has developed DC granules of Azathioprine for making its film-coated tablets. The product has been developed to produce uniform particles that help give better flowability in a way that facilitates tablet compression. The finished tablet’s qualitative composition and dissolution profile are in line with the innovator’s and comply as per USP monograph.

Azathioprine is an immunosuppressant used to prevent organ transplant rejection (especially kidney and liver) and to treat autoimmune diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis, and autoimmune hepatitis. It works by weakening the immune system to reduce inflammation and stop the body from attacking its own tissues.
